Victoria's Secret SEMI ANNUAL SALE In Stores

Wahoo! It's finally here! Sale starts in stores tomorrow! Got some tips and tricks for those brave enough to jump right in....

Tip #1 Do not go to the sale in your undies. J/k, but DEFINITELY go to the semi-annual sale in comfortable clothing. Things can get a little cray-cray. Leave the heels at home. Ditch dangly bracelets, earrings, necklaces, and the like. You don't need anything on your body that's going to cause any discomfort. Speaking of discomfort...

Tip #2 If at all possible, leave your young ones out of this. I've seen kids get dragged along to the SAS, and it's not fun for anyone. Your little one might have to resort to extreme behaviors in order to make the shopping trip fun for herself. 


Tip #3 Grab-First-Think-Later! Use the black shopping tote that a Sales Associate will offer you. If you see anything you're not sure about, just take it. That way you can take your time making your decisions after you have everything you like as an option in front of you. With that said...


Tip #4 Get your mind right. This is not a war. VS is not a battle ground. Some ladies freak out when they see so many people and so much cute lingerie on sale, & they go into Street Fighter mode. No. Just say no. Breathe. It's only bras, body sprays, and panties. There is no need to make yourself look uncouth or do anything you wouldn't normally do in a normal store on a normal day. Trust me, there is more than enough merchandise for everyone!

Tip #5 Leave your phone in your purse. Talking on the phone will distract you. Plus, is there anything more annoying than listening to someone's whole convo 6 inches from your ear? Ugh. Space is limited. We're all here to SHOP, so let's focus, ladies!

Tip #6 Hydrate & bring protein. With the amount of items to look at/try on plus the long lines, you very well may be in the store for an hour or more. Bring a small bottle of water to stay hydrated, and a compact protein like nuts or a fitness bar. Not to have a meal in the store but just to keep your energy up.

As for me, Miss VSpink-love will be tucked safely away at home chillin. You could never catch me at the craziness that is the in-store SAS :)  But I see how it's fun for a lot of people.

Review of Victoria's Secret PINK Boyfriend Pants / Sweats

Mmmm purple. Yummy.

I know, I know... so late on the boyfriends train. What can I say? I was obsessed with the MVP yoga line!

New to boyfriends?

--> Most Comfortable style of casual pants on the market. Women's pants are designed to hug us in curvy places because that's cute & all. But you have got to experience pants that actually don't constrict you... anywhere! If you buy the size of pants that you normally wear, they won't be SO baggy that they look weird. The looseness lets air circulate, which is healthy for your skin. And there is nothing masculine about adorable VSPink designs. You're not sacrificing any femininity when you relax in these. If you wear actual men's pants... you're sacrificing :) 

Heavenly soft fabric with a nice weight to it, which prevents bunching up or weird wrinkling.

I KNOW what you're thinking now... why the giant butt area?! LOL it will not be a problem if you choose your regular size; the fabric will drape properly. No diaper effect :)

That boxer-style back was holding me back, but I'm so glad I gave them a shot. Now I can't take them off. You won't either. Especially if you live with someone who wants the house to feel like Alaska 24/7!

Hello dolls ~ listed a whole bunch of things on Yardsellr. Velour pants, boyfriend sweats, vintage flare pants, lacie thongs, limited edition bling pants, hoodies, the list goes on and on. All colors. All sizes. All deeply discounted. All good!

My review of the PINK semi-annual sale online: 

UGH. 

Utter lack of design. The collection released for this spring was very, very basic. And not in a good way. The theme is a boring print with no graphics: white print LOVE and black print PINK. You'll find these black and white words stamped on boyfriend pants, hoodies, t-shirts, and shorts. 

PINK designers, are you guys out of ideas or out of your minds or what? You guys do NOT get paid to come up with... nothing. I'm not 11 years old, so I actually remember the glory days of PINK. Collections like rock and roll, save the planet, University of Pink, skull and lace, rainbow patches, rock the vote - that s*** is HOT. Stop being sad sacks &
make us something great again!
I can think of about 20 kick ass themes off the top of my head, but I'm not telling. Unless you pay me. Then I'll sing like a canary.

To sum it all up:

VS gives you 1 option: the current season's collection. The problem: you rarely fall in love with a particular season's entire collection. Any collection has a couple of must-have's, lots of whatever's, and some hell-no's.

Victoria's Secret In Store Semi-Annual Sale PREVIEW

This is a review of the 

Memorial Day sale

(preview of the in store semi-annual sale)

 that just popped up in Victoria's Secret stores! When I got the email, I told myself not to get excited because it couldn't be a major sale. I was still... a little too excited :)

Imagine RuPaul purring in your ear when you strut inside, "You. Own. Everything."

The email highlights $19.99+ bras, $3.99+ panties, and $9.99+ PINK. At the stores I visited, my favorite category of those 3 was bras. The bra bins were quite limited. There were not very many in each size, but I did notice lots of pretty colors & prints. Not boring stuff like cotton collection. The bras in the bins regularly retail for prices up through $60. 


I saw the trademark Sexy Little Things balconet demi bras, along with other SLTs. Very Sexy push-ups were there along with BioFits. A couple of Angels. Now that I think of it, there were a few of all the usual suspects that you would expect to be plentiful at the semi-annual.


But this is definitely only a PREVIEW. Again, the selection was very limited where I was. Victoria's Secret is not doing this sale as a blow-out affair. Very few items are in the sale bins, and they are placed around the store in strange areas because the point is for you to walk around & end up grabbing regular-priced merchandise. That's Marketing 101. Perhaps the selection is much better in very large stores like Manhattan locations? But not where I was. Also note that there weren't any basic colors (white, nude, black). Generally, those basics don't appear much in the semi-annual sale period.


I didn't spend any time looking at panties, and PINK was lame! Tiny selection of pj pants, sleep tops, and lame sweatshirts. Not much variation, and icky colors. Oh well, saved some money there :)

Final verdict: considering the price of gas, do NOT make a special trip to the store for this preview sale. If you are already at the mall for something else, go ahead and stop by to check out the merch. Don't expect to find a specific style/color combo that you have your heart set on. This is more of a browse and be surprised thing. Fair warning--aimless shopping might end up with you falling in love with something at full price.

Beware the lure of fake coupons

Have you ever seen coupons for $10 off any Victoria's Secret PINK purchase being auctioned on an auction website? The seller will usually ask for your name. Then the seller enters your name into an electronic file & sends it to you printed or via email.

Scammers are so lame.

DO NOT BUY THESE. They are 100% fraudulent. It's hard to imagine that someone would sit at a computer and generate these things for a couple bucks a pop. But some people out there actually do. Why does ebay allow this when it's clearly fraud? Probably the same reason that ebay does anything sucky... because ebay sucks.


Anyway, the point is not to waste your money on these. Any manager who isn't a rookie will know that VS is not currently circulating a given coupon. If she or he is really good, they will even recognize an old image from an old ad campaign. Either way, don't embarrass yourself & don't line the pockets of people who are running a scam. 

Check these aspects to judge authenticity

It's pretty easy to tell if a coupon being auctioned is legitimate. 99 times out 100, it is not a sheet of paper. It's a thicker type of material, closer to cardboard than copy paper. No matter what the material, it's going to look professionally printed, and there will usually be several of the same coupon available from different sellers. Coupons are mailed to people in a limited time period, and then everyone who doesn't want theirs posts it online around the same couple of weeks. 


Using a fake coupon means store staff will not trust you with coupons in the future, and it can encourage VS to get more restrictive with coupons -- not what we want. Plenty of deals to be had by using real coupons in the right way. Cheers!
